Founder - Meg
I’m Meg, and I’m one of the Co-Founders of DarkShift. I’m a first responder who’s lived through PTSD challenges and some of the hardest mental health battles of my life. There were times when everything felt so heavy that I could not see an end in sight. I felt defeated as I let the fear of talking about what I was going through completely pin me down and isolate me.
Fitness became my outlet when I didn’t know where else to put everything I was carrying. I found comfort in therapy, eliminated certain aspects of my life that were suffocating me, and learned how to stay grounded when things felt out of control through healthier coping mechanisms.
DarkShift was built from lived experience. I wanted to create something that felt like comfort, supported local communities, and brought people together.. especially those fighting quiet battles. This brand stands for resilience, for showing up on days that felt impossible, and for building a family that looks out for one another.
No one should ever feel alone or unsupported in their darkest moments. DarkShift exists to remind people that they are seen, they matter, and they don’t have to carry it all by themselves. DarkShift represents our rise up.
Founder - Dev
My name is Devin VanderMaas and I am one of the co-founders of DarkShift, but before the brand, there was the person.
My journey has been shaped by loss, mental health battles, identity struggles, and years of carrying pain in silence. From early childhood trauma to surviving depression, PTSD, and the weight of working in high-stress environments, I spent much of my life in survival mode learning how to function, not how to heal. For years, I masked pain with discipline, work, and isolation, believing strength meant staying quiet.
DarkShift was born from the moment that mindset broke. Not as a clothing brand, but as a purpose-driven movement built on the belief that struggle doesn’t define you, but how you respond to it does.
Today, my mission is simple: to create something real for people who feel unseen, unheard, and misunderstood giving proof that you can come from darkness and still build something meaningful, honest, and powerful.
Social Media - Mikey
Hi, I’m Michael. I run the socials here, and I’m truly proud to be part of a brand as unique and purpose-driven as DarkShift.
As someone who struggles with social anxiety, being connected to a brand that genuinely supports mental health means more to me than I can put into words. I’m incredibly grateful to Devin and Meg for trusting me with this opportunity, and I’m excited to keep growing along side them as we navigate this wild life.
Thank you for being here and supporting what we stand for, together we can keep pushing the conversation around mental health in the right direction.
